Tokyo Skytree Town Dream Christmas 2020

Celebrate with bright lights and more this festive season

Venue: Tokyo Skytree When: Early Nov - Late Dec 2020

If you're looking for a way to get in the festive spirit this holiday season, the Tokyo Skytree Dream Christmas event runs right up until Christmas Day. Skytree itself will be illuminated in two different color combinations to represent a Christmas tree and a candle respectively, and the fun continues inside. The glass panels on the Tenbo Deck will be turned into a giant screen with a special Christmas program playing, there will be a range of fun photo spots, and even the window cleaners are decked out in Santa suits!

There is no fee to enjoy the outdoor illuminations, but the indoor events require a ticket for the Tenbo Deck. As pricing differs from weekdays to weekends, check the official site for details.

Getting there

Tokyo Skytree can be conveniently accessed from either the Tokyo Skytree Station on the Tobu Skytree Line (2 minutes away on foot), or Oshiage Station on the Hanzomon Line (6 minutes away on foot).

There is also the Skytree Loop Bus which has several pickup points in Tokyo - details about the bus service can be found here.

I'll be looking at it from the other side of the Edo River. Clear evenings are a good incentive to get out for evening walks.

Its such a weird Christmas this year. No Santa visit is the hardest part. But its nice to be able to see illuminations.

Yes - definitely a weird one - an opportunity for new, at home traditions, though! We put our tree up a lot earlier this year to try and get into the spirit a little sooner, so that's been nice!
