Just 50 meters far from the Asakusa Metro Station and a five minute walk from the Sanja-sama shrine, there is a quiet and peaceful place perfect for wandering, jogging, biking, relaxing or taking pictures; I'm talking about a promenade by the Sumida River. Supplied with plenty of benches, fountains, toilets and an adjunct park, the Asakusa Sumida River promenade is an excellent choice for spending an evening out.
In addition, regular river cruises depart from this spot, for visitors who want to take a boat tour through the city.

There are different kinds of flowers located in some areas of the promenade.

A visitor observing the Skytree Building

The promenade is always full of people observing the skyline and taking pictures of it.

The promenade is located about 50 meters away from the Asakusa Station. In front of it, there is an information stand.

The train tracks cross the river in parallel to the Azumabashi Brudge.

The river was quite dirty and replete of jellyfish

As the day got darker, the sunset was projected on one of the skyscrapers from across the river.

Detail of the beautiful sunrise projected on the skyscraper and, at the same time, on the water.

All the visitors, including myself, were waiting for the day to get darker and the Skytree to light up.

Finally, the Skytree was illuminated.
